19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was over.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an better serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to create a decider.

The opponent defended four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
